About Tim Dawson
I have been continuously involved in the solar and alternative energy field since 1980, primarily in the Medford/ Ashland Oregon area. I founded a business, The Solar Collection, Inc. and operated that business until early 2009. During that time I installed over 800 solar water and swimming pool heating systems, in addition to providing service to as many “orphaned” systems.
During that time I specialized in the solar thermal aspect of the business while my partner specialized in photovoltaic solar, wind power, and hydronic heating systems. Because the alternative energy field has gone through various up and down cycles we added numerous specialties along the way to augment our business volume. At one point we built and remodeled custom homes as well as added specialties including conventional water heater repair and replacement, pool and hot tub equipment service and repairs.
In 2008 my wife and I decided to move to Salem Oregon in order to be closer to our daughter and granddaughter and assist in her care while our daughter attended law school. I sold the business to an employee and we subsequently moved to Salem, Oregon and I have opened a similar business here. It is my intention to provide the highest level of sales, service, and installations long into the future.
